Datto RMM and BCDR Device insights

This insight provides information about the RMM or Datto BCDR device associated with the ticket's device when the RMM integration is enabled. The information and options shown will vary depending by device type. The window layout is as follows:

Top icons, from left to right: 

• Device Access buttons and ellipsis menu: The options that appear here are determined by the type of attached device and its Datto RMM configuration. Refer to Device action buttons and ellipsis menu options by device type for details about the options that can appear for each. The ellipsis menu will not appear for Mobile, Datto Switch, Datto Access Point, or Datto Managed Power devices.

Information fields:

• Hostname and online status: This field reports the hostname and online status of the device. If the device is online, a green circle appears. If it is offline, a gray circle with a dash inside will appear, along with the amount of time elapsed since the device was last online. If the device is in privacy mode, a lock icon will appear to the right of the online status icon. If the device is not in privacy mode, this icon will not appear. Only devices of type Server or Workstation can use privacy mode. Datto RMM does not track hostname or online status for mobile devices.
• User: The information reported here is the last logged-in user of the device, as provided by Datto RMM. It will only display for devices of device type Server or Workstation.
• Description: This value is the description of the device, as provided by Datto RMM.
• Type: The device type, as reported by Datto RMM, appears here.
• Operating system: This field displays operating system information for Server, Workstation, and Mobile device types.
• Storage: Available storage for server and workstation device types will appear here. The value represented on the bar is the storage space currently in use across all drives, represented as a percentage of the total storage space across all drives. If the percentage represented is less than 70%, the bar will appear blue. If the percentage is greater than or equal 70%, the bar will appear red.
• Status: For servers and workstations, this field will report antivirus, patch, and software status. Moving your mouse cursor over each icon will display a tooltip with extended information about the status of the category. Refer to Status field icons for more information.
• Datto Continuity: If your device is protected by a Datto Continuity appliance, this section will appear, detailing the time elapsed since the system's last local backup, last offsite sync, and last screenshot verification outcomes. You will not see the Datto Continuity insight for unprotected systems.

• All Open Alerts and Last 30 Days: Click these links to view widget drill-in table lists of RMM alerts for the device.

NOTE  Icons are visible only when the logged-in user has permission to access links to Datto pages from within Autotask (check box on Resource Management page, Security tab.) To learn more, refer to Complete the Security tab.

• Web Remote: Click this button to launch the Datto RMM web remote function. If SSO is enabled and the user’s Datto RMM security level has the Web Remote option turned off, this button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Device: Select this button to launch the Datto RMM Device page in a new window for the primary device’s associated system.
• : The ellipsis menu provides access to extended Datto RMM actions. The options available will vary based on the device type of the primary device’s associated Datto RMM device.
• Agent Browser: When you click this button, the Agent Browser will open on your local machine to connect to the remote device. If your computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Splashtop: The Splashtop button initiates a remote screen sharing session on the remote system. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not allow access to Splashtop, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• RDP: This feature enables you to connect to the target host via a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not allow access to RDP, or their computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• VNC: Click this button to start a VNC session on the target device. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not allow access to VNC, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Local Restore: When you select the Local Restore feature, you'll be redirected to the Local Restore page for the Datto Continuity product associated with the target system. This button will only appear for devices being backed up by a Datto BCDR appliance.
• Recovery Launchpad: To access cloud-hosted disaster recovery features on the Datto Partner Portal for the device, click this button. The Recovery Launchpad feature will only appear on tickets associated with a Datto Continuity product or for servers or workstations being backed up by a Datto BCDR appliance.
• Run Backup Now: Click this button to start a backup for a protected system being backed up by a Datto BCDR device.

• SSH: The SSH button initiates a direct connection via SSH to the terminal interface of the primary device’s associated system. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not allow access to SSH/Telnet, or their computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Device: Select this button to launch the Datto RMM Device page in a new window for the primary device’s associated system.
• : The ellipsis menu provides access to extended Datto RMM actions. The options available will vary based on the device type of the primary device’s associated Datto RMM device.
• HTTP/S: When you click this button, you'll be able to connect to the target host via HTTP/S. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not allow access to HTTP/S, or their computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Custom Tunnel: The Custom Tunnel button initiates a custom remote tunneling session to enable access to the associated system. If the logged-in user's RMM permissions do not include the Custom Connection setting, or their computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.

• Connect: When you click this button, the Agent Browser will open on your local machine to connect to the remote device. If your computer does not have a Microsoft Windows operating system, the button will still appear, but it will be disabled.
• Device: Select this button to launch the Datto RMM Device page in a new window for the primary device’s associated system.

• Device: Select this button to launch the Datto RMM Device page in a new window for the primary device’s associated system.

• Network Manager: This button opens a Datto Network Manager session for the appliance on the Datto Partner Portal. If the device is offline, this button will still appear and will be enabled, allowing you to access reports in Datto Network Manager to assess the last status of the hardware.
